The Yamaha FZ FI V2.0 series has been launched with a fuel injected engine and it’s only a matter of time before the faired sibling, the Yamaha Fazer FI V2.0, arrives.
An undisguised test mule of the upcoming 150 cc faired motorcycle has been snapped by Throttlequest.com’s reader Mr. Spandan Singh. Much like the previous version, the new Fazer V2.0 borrows its body panels from the FZ V2.0 series starting from the tank all the way to the rear license plate holder.
The fairing has been redesigned to suit the rest of the bike. The new Fazer receives a sharper twin headlamp design which is inspired by the mighty Yamaha R1. The visor and tank extensions have been redesigned too.
The Fazer FI V2.0 is most likely to be powered by the same 149 cc air-cooled fuel injected engine that powers the FZ FI V2.0 series. The motor dishes out 13.1 PS of power and 12.8 Nm of torque. In comparison, the current carbureted model develops a higher 14 PS and 13.6 Nm of torque.
Yamaha has decided to sell the old and new FZ models alongside each other and the same retail arrangement is expected with the Fazer. The Yamaha Fazer FI V2.0 would be priced in the vicinity of INR 82,000 (ex-showroom) and will debut in the coming months.
